The new, state of the art Cairns Aquarium opened in September, 2017 and now YOU can spend the day exploring the world above and under the water with a visit to this must-visit attraction! Full of fun and adventure for all ages to enjoy, Cairns Aquarium will give you a look into the animals that live in both the rainforests and the oceans of Far North Queensland. With a visit here, you'll follow the journey of a drop of rain as it begins an adventure into our rivers and streams, our luscious rainforests, and of course, the beautiful Great Barrier Reef.

With an emphasis on life underwater in Tropical North Queensland, there are ten different eco-systems showcasing a range of flora and fauna spread across 70 different habitats. With a number of different presentations throughout the day, including talks on River Monsters, the Ribbon Reef, the Open Ocean and Coral Sea Predators, you'll have a busy and fun day at the aquarium. There are also various Habitat Talks, animal feeding sessions and terrestrial and marine touch tanks that the kids will love! Home to over 15,000 aquatic animals, this is one of Queensland's biggest and best aquariums. In addition to entry to the aquarium, you can choose to purchase one of the various packages available.

There is the admission with souvenir photo package, the Aqualuna Lunch which gives you the pick of the menu with a complimentary drink, the Gold Pass Experience for VIP access and a 1.5 hour behind-the-scenes tour and souvenir photo, or the Platinum Pass Experience which includes an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour with a turtle rehabilitation centre experience, a souvenir photo, a unique gift and a 7-course degustation for lunch or dinner. Perfect for all ages, purchase your tickets to Cairns Aquarium online today to avoid the queues at the entrance.

Aaron Lovelock 3 weeks ago After hearing all the negative things about the Cairns Aquarium, I can now strongly suggest otherwise our experience was amazing and the exhibits on display were very well thought of and put together with such passion. It was easy to get around fluently without walking backwards and forwards to see things.
Easy parking at the front
Jasaline Dinh 6 days ago

Easy parking at the front. All day entry so you can come out & in again on the same day. Smaller than other aquariums like in Sydney, Sea World or Sunshine Coast so not a lot to see for us. Very informative "River Monsters" presentation. Good for people who haven't been to many aquariums before

My review

The aquarium was a nice place to go when it was hot outside Lots of different fish to see The aquarium was clean and tidy I was disappointed about the price tho as it only took less than 30 min to get around the whole place and it cost $80 dollars for 1 adult and 2 children

We purchased tickets to the Cairns Aquarium for $30

We purchased tickets to the Cairns Aquarium for $30.00 each and entry at the door was $42.00. It was very easy to do and was valid for twelve months. Would recommend them for easy to use purchases and saving plenty of money

I came across Experience Oz when I was searching for cheap tickets for Cairns Aquarium

I came across Experience Oz when I was searching for cheap tickets for Cairns Aquarium. I bought this ticket in front of the aquarium and it was sent to me instantly. The aquarium was amazing. My favourite section is the Coral Sea area where they have replicated the Great Barrier Reef. Glad I got to go to the aquarium at a discounted price.

The Aquarium in Cairns is a really great place to spend a few hours
Anja Gloor 2 months ago

The Aquarium in Cairns is a really great place to spend a few hours. There are a lot of animals to see and the big reef displays are especially fascinating. If you have enough time, listen to the talks. The people are super motivated and you will learn a lot.

Had the time of my life

Had the time of my life. Fish are incredible creatures and the aquarium was nice and clean airconditioned so it was nice and cool compared to the heat outside. The people working there are nice and friendly too they also do some great shows. 10/10 would recommend!

What a great day - the aquarium was full of surprises- the double level tanks and the walkthrough tanks were a highlight - the array of ocean fauna was amazing

What a great day - the aquarium was full of surprises- the double level tanks and the walkthrough tanks were a highlight - the array of ocean fauna was amazing! I recommend a visit here - the information talks were interesting and engaging. We asked for a pass out to have lunch at the adjoining AquaLuna bistro and that was very nice as well and we were given 2 tickets for free desserts! The pass out process was a bit clunky and we had seahorse stamps on our arms for the day but it was definitely worth it.

We visited the Cairns Aquarium on a weekday and it wasn't very busy
Jasmine Thomson 2 months ago

We visited the Cairns Aquarium on a weekday and it wasn't very busy. Parking was a little hard to find, you will have to park on the street and pay the fee ($1.40 per hour). The aquarium was air-conditioned and features a restaurant overlooking a large viewing area of the fish. It was a great visit, and we would go back again!

Ordered tickets through Experience Oz and checking in was a breeze
Prachi Patel 2 months ago

Ordered tickets through Experience Oz and checking in was a breeze. The aquarium features Australia wildlife, especially from Queensland. It is a beautiful aquarium which is only about a year old. There are talks every hour done by biologists. The exhibits often have interactive features for children. It could easily be seen within a couple of hours, but we spent about 4 hours there so we could attend more talks. It was a very pleasant trip.
